Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Toronto Patriots, February 21, 2024
The Milton Menace are gearing up for a rare afternoon game on Wednesday when they visit the Toronto Patriots in search of their fifth straight win.
The Menace have played well over the last stretch of games and will look to continue it on Wednesday. Milton beat the Caledon Admirals 3-1 on Monday. After a scoreless first period, Aidan Puley opened the scoring in the second. Puley now has 11 points in his last eight games, with three goals and eight assists. The Admirals got one back, but Justin O’Donnell put the Menace ahead before the end of the period. All three second-period goals were scored on the power play, and the Menace’s power play has scored seven goals in their last three games. In the third, Tristan Tremble sealed the win for Milton with an empty net goal in the final second of the game. Forbes Anderson picked up another win between the pipes.
Toronto is coming into Wednesday’s game off a 6-3 win over the Mississauga Chargers on Monday. Prior to the win, they had lost four straight games. The Patriots sit eighth in the West Conference with a 22-24-3-3 record for 50 points in 52 games. The Brantford 99ers sit three points behind with two games in hand, so every point the Patriots can pick up is critical to their playoff hopes.
Milton and Toronto met in early February when the Menace came out with a 4-1 win. Before that, the teams split the first two meetings of the season. This fourth game will be their final meeting of the regular season. Although the Menace have already clinched the playoffs, with just six games remaining, they want to play their strongest hockey to keep their spot in the standings and go into the playoffs on a high note.
If you aren’t making the trip to Vaughan Sports Village for the 12:00 p.m. puck drop, you can stream the game on FloHockey. The Menace will also share game updates on their social media platforms.
