Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Niagara Falls Canucks – January 14, 2024
The Milton Menace are looking to get back in the win column on Sunday when they head to the Gale Centre to take on the Niagara Falls Canucks.
The Menace are coming off a 6-3 loss to the East Conference leading Trenton Golden Hawks on Wednesday. Milton got out to a quick start when Madden MacDougall scored just over a minute in, but Trenton scored on the power play to even it up. The Golden Hawks took the lead in the second period, scoring two goals to go up 3-1. The teams combined for five goals in the third period. Aidan Puley picked up two, but they weren’t enough to get back in the game or even combat the three new goals from Trenton, leaving them with a loss. The Menace have had a few days to regroup before making the trip to Niagara Falls.
The Canucks have had over a week off since their last game on January 6th, when they lost 6-1 to the Georgetown Raiders. They have an 11-25-0-1 record and sit 10th place in the West Conference.
The Menace and Canucks have met twice this season, with Milton coming out victorious both times. They last met on December 22nd when the Menace beat the Canucks 5-2 in Niagara Falls. Milton has to be responsible defensively and hit the ice on Sunday with speed. The Canucks are persistent on the puck and will not make it easy for the Menace to keep possession, so it will be vital that they take advantage of their opportunities and set the pace early. Milton will look for a solid team effort, especially, when coming off a loss.
Puck drop at the Gale Centre is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. The game will be available to watch on FloHockey and the Menace will provide updates on their social media accounts.
