Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Brantford 99ers – January 18, 2024

On Thursday, it will be another road game for the Milton Menace when they head to Brantford to take on the Brantford 99ers at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.

The Menace find themselves back in the win column after a strong performance on Sunday which earned them a 7-3 win over the Niagara Falls Canucks. An offence-filled first period saw goals from Johnny Mead, Justin O’Donnell and Tristan Tremble. The teams traded goals in the second, with Alex Siletsky and Alessandro Petreccia scoring for the Menace. Madden MacDougall and Marcus Tryfon each added a goal in the third period to close out the win. Tryfon’s goal was a power play marker. Ariel Zaslaver made 17 saves to pick up his ninth win in 11 games this season.

Brantford is also coming into Thursday off a win as they beat the Burlington Cougars 4-3 on Tuesday. The 99ers sit ninth place in the East Conference with a 17-22-0-2 record on the season.

Thursday’s game will be the fourth and final meeting between Brantford and Milton during the regular season. Milton has come out victorious in all three games, including their last meeting on November 3rd, which the Menace won 6-0. Milton has scored at least four goals in each of the meetings and has outscored Brantford 14-3 throughout the season series.

The Menace will look to continue the style of play they’ve displayed throughout the season that has given them success over the 99ers. Milton can control the game with a quick and persistent forecheck, and they will look to get on the board early to make it difficult for the 99ers to come back from a deficit.

Thursday’s puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre in Brantford. The game will be available to be streamed on FloHockey, and the Menace will provide game updates on their social media accounts.
