Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Trenton Golden Hawks- January 10, 2024
The Milton Menace are on the road this week to take on the Trenton Golden Hawks on Wednesday at Duncan Memorial Gardens.
The Menace are looking to continue the high level of play they’ve displayed over the last month. They are currently on an eight-game win streak and have been a top team in the league and across the whole CJHL since the beginning of the season. Milton played against the Buffalo Jr. Sabres on Friday night, coming out with a 5-3 win to sweep the season series. Tristan Tremble scored to open the game, followed by a goal from Ivan Fabjan. Jayden Levesque scored in the second to extend the Menace lead to 3-0. Buffalo got one, and Fabjan quickly scored a power play marker to bring Milton back to a three-goal lead. The Jr. Sabres got within one in the third, but Aidan Puley added insurance to secure the Menace win.
The Trenton Golden Hawks have also been a strong team this season with their 30-7-0-1 record. This puts them first place in the East Conference and second overall in the league. They have started this new year with two dominant wins, 13-1 and 9-3 over the Aurora Tigers and Oakville Blades respectively.
Wednesday’s game will be the only meeting between the Menace and Golden Hawks of the regular season. Last season, Trenton topped Milton 3-2 in their one game against each other. Trenton will be a tough task for the Menace but an important test as they progress through the season. Team defence will be a major factor in this game, as Trenton has shown all season that they can be a serious offensive threat. The Golden Hawks have scored the most goals of anyone in the league with 198 and have the second-highest goal differential with +116. The Menace sit in third at +52.
Puck drop on Wednesday is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. from Duncan Memorial Gardens. The game will be available to be viewed on FloHockey, and the Menace will provide game updates on their social media pages.
