Milton Menace Preview: Menace vs Markham Royals – January 21, 2024
The Milton Menace will hit the ice on Sunday for their third game of the week. The Markham Royals will visit the Milton Memorial Arena for the first and only time this season.
The Menace are coming off a massive 8-2 win over the Mississauga Chargers. Milton got an early lead, with Aidan Puley and Alex Siletsky picking up goals in the first period. Puley added a power play goal in the second period, and with goals from Ashtyn Pacheco and Connor Driscoll, the Menace were ahead 5-0 heading into the third period. In the final frame, Puley picked up his third of the game while Driscoll and Madden MacDougall scored power-play goals. The Chargers scored two goals, one with the man advantage, but the Menace’s offence was dominant.
The Markham Royals played Saturday night against the Toronto Patriots and won 6-3. They are 4-6-0-0 in their last 10 games and have been stronger on the road than at home this season. The Royals sit seventh in the East Conference with a 22-14-2-2 record. Not only will Sunday’s game be the only game for the Royals in Milton this season, but it will be the lone meeting between the two teams. Milton came out victorious in three of their five games last regular season.
MacDougall is currently on a four-game goal streak and has scored in seven of the Menace’s last nine games. He has 11 points in that stretch and has been an impactful player for Milton all season. He is tied for third in team scoring with 18 goals and 18 assists for 36 points in 39 games. The Guelph, Ontario native will look to continue to produce for the Menace and help them find ways to win in the back half of the regular season.
