Milton Menace Preview: Menace vs Mississauga Chargers – January 19, 2024

The Milton Menace are back home to play their second of three games this week. They will hit the ice on Friday to take on the Mississauga Chargers.

The Menace played a road game on Thursday night against the Brantford 99ers and lost 5-3. Madden MacDougall got the Menace on the board first with a power play goal, but the 99ers tied it up before the end of the first period. Brantford took the lead in the second and then scored three goals in the third to go up 5-1. Alessandro Petreccia and Johnny Mead picked up goals in the second half of the third period, but it wasn’t enough to tie the game for Milton. With another game on Friday for the Menace, there won’t be much time to sit on this loss. They’ll look to regroup before hitting the ice against the Chargers.

Mississauga has lost their last five straight games, including Tuesday’s 4-2 loss to the Buffalo Jr. Sabres. The Chargers have struggled to find wins this season, putting them 12th in the West Conference with a 4-34-0-3 record.

Friday’s game will be the third of four meetings between the Menace and Chargers. Milton won both of the previous meetings, outscoring Mississauga 12-5. After Friday, these two teams will meet once more at the end of February. The Menace have done a good job controlling the play against the Chargers, and they will look to continue this trend on Friday. Milton will need to utilize their speed to take time away from Mississauga and put out a complete 60-minute effort to come away with the win.

Friday’s game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Milton Memorial Arena. If you can’t make it out to the rink, the game will be available on FloHockey, and the Menace will provide updates on their social media channels.
