Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Leamington Flyers, February 1, 2024
The Milton Menace are heading to the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre for a Thursday night battle against the Leamington Flyers. Thursday will mark the second of five straight road games for the Menace.
Milton is looking to make it three wins in a row after they beat the Pickering Panthers 6-3 on Sunday. The teams traded goals in the first period, with Connor Driscoll picking up one for the Menace. Tristan Tremble opened the second period scoring, followed by one from Alessandro Petreccia. Petreccia is on a six-game point streak and has recorded nine points in those games. Driscoll picked up his second of the game to end the period. The final frame saw another early goal from Tremble, along with Madden MacDougall’s 20th of the season. Forbes Anderson returned to the crease, making his first start of the season. He stopped 24 shots to pick up the win.
On Saturday, Leamington tied 3-3 against the Georgetown Raiders. The Flyers had won six straight games straight prior to playing Georgetown, losing just one game in January. They will look to continue their winning ways in February.
This game will be the fourth meeting between Leamington and Milton this season. They tied the first meeting and then swapped wins in the next two. The Menace won the last meeting between these two teams on November 16th. In that game, Milton scored two power-play goals, and went perfect on their penalty kill. The Menace will try to replicate that level of play on special teams in this one.
The Flyers sit just five points behind the Menace in the standings. Milton and Leamington sit second and third in the West Conference, respectively. These points are crucial for both teams.
Thursday’s puck drop is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. in Leamington. You can stream the game on FloHockey and follow the Menace’s social media accounts for updates on the game.
