Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Burlington Cougars – December 1, 2023
The Milton Menace are back on the road as they head to Burlington to take on the Burlington Cougars for their first game of the weekend.
After winning six straight games, the Menace fell 3-2 to the Stouffville Spirit on Sunday. Madden MacDougall scored in the second period to send Milton and Stouffville into the third period tied at one. Stouffville was able to score two goals in the third and Ivan Fabjan’s goal wasn’t enough to get Milton back in it before time expired. This was the Menace’s first loss of the month and they now have a 19-5-2-0 record.
The Menace will now look ahead to the Cougars who are also coming off a loss as they fell 6-3 to the Toronto Jr. Canadiens on Tuesday. Burlington is 11-11-0-6 this season and sits seventh in the West Conference. This is the second of four meetings between the Menace and Cougars this season as they last met on September 29 when Milton won 4-3.
Over the last two games, the Menace have not scored a first period goal but have given up four to their opponents. Especially coming off a loss, the Menace will want to start strong and take advantage of their opportunities early rather than getting down and playing from behind. There is an importance to setting the tone of the game and making your opponent play to your speed. If the Menace want to get back in the win column, this will be a key to success.
Puck drop from Central Arena in Burlington comes at 7:30 p.m. If you aren’t making the trip to Burlington to support Milton, stream the game on FloHockey and follow along on the Menace’s social media accounts for game updates.
