Milton Menace Preview: Menace vs Collingwood Blues – December 3, 2023
The Milton Menace will be looking to get back in the win column when they welcome the league-leading Collingwood Blues to town on Sunday.
The Menace have lost two straight for the first time this season after falling 5-2 to the Burlington Cougars on Friday. Milton got out to an early lead as Connor Driscoll scored in the first five minutes of the game. The Cougars tied it up before the end of the period and then got two more in the first half of the second. Justin O’Donnell scored near the end of the middle frame but Burlington kept the pressure on in the third, scoring two more goals to seal a 5-2 victory.
Collingwood is also coming into Sunday’s game off a loss. They fell 3-0 at home to the Georgetown Raiders and this was their first loss since November 4. Sunday is the second of four meetings between the Menace and Blues. After Sunday, they will not meet again until February. In their first meeting of the season, the Blues dominated, winning 10-0 at Eddie Bush Arena. The Blues are first in the league with 50 points and a 25-4-0-0 record. The Menace sit 10 points back of the Blues with two games in hand and a 19-6-2-0 record. If Milton wants to challenge for first place in the West Conference, these games against Collingwood will have a huge impact.
The Menace need to come into Sunday’s game with a clear mind. It is important to put their last two games and their record against the Blues out of their mind and just play a full team game to the best of their abilities.
Grab your tickets for the game and head down to Milton Memorial Arena on Sunday to cheer on the Menace. Puck drop will come at 6:30 p.m. and the game will be streamed on FloHockey for fans who can’t make it out. You can also follow along on the Menace’s social media accounts for updates.
