Milton Menace Preview: Menace vs Leamington Flyers, Round 2 Game 3 – March 26, 2024

After a win on Sunday, the Milton Menace are returning home with their series against the Leamington Flyers tied 1-1. The stage is set for game three on Tuesday at the Milton Memorial Arena.

On Sunday, the Menace got to a much-needed quick start as Connor Driscoll scored just 17 seconds into the game. Later in the period, Jayden Levesque scored his first of the playoffs to give Milton a 2-0 lead. The second period went scoreless, and the Flyers got on the board early in the third to cut the Menace’s lead in half. Although the Flyers pressed throughout the final frame, producing 16 shots on goal, the Menace were able to hang on. Driscoll’s second of the game was on the empty net and solidified a 3-1 win over Leamington. Glen Crandall made 33 saves in the win.

The Menace have been outshot in both games of the series. Although Milton’s goaltending was strong throughout the regular season and has been a major asset during the playoffs, the Menace will look to limit the Flyers’ shots in game three to minimize their scoring opportunities. They need to try to make it more difficult for Leamington to get pucks to the net.

In game two, the Menace grabbed an early lead and hung onto it. This was a crucial adjustment after the loss in game one and was critical to leaving Sunday’s game with the win. As we’ve seen, Leamington is a skilled opponent who will push until the very end of each game. Playing strong with the lead will be a difference-maker in the rest of the series.

Tuesday’s game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. Grab your tickets now because the Menace need you in the stands as they look to take a lead in the series. If you can’t make it out, watch the game on FloHockey or stay tuned to the Menace’s social media accounts for updates.
