Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Collingwood Blues, March 1, 2024
The Milton Menace will kick off their final weekend of the season by paying a visit to the Collingwood Blues on Friday.
Milton is looking to get themselves back in the win column ahead of the playoffs after losing 4-3 to the Oakville Blades on Wednesday. Aidan Puley opened the game’s scoring with his 30th of the season to give the Menace the lead. The second period went scoreless, but both teams came out quick in the third. The Blades scored less than 30 seconds into the period on the power play. Alexander Siletsky regained the Menace’s lead, but it was short-lived as the Blades added another three goals to go up 4-2. Connor Driscoll scored on the power play with under four minutes to play, however the Menace fell short in the end, losing 4-3.
The Blues have a quick turnaround as they played on Thursday against Stouffville Spirit. They won 4-3, extending their win streak to five games. The game against Milton will be the Blues’ final regular season game. Collingwood has secured first play in the West Conference and the league overall.
The Menace and Blues played just two weeks ago, and Milton won 5-4. The teams split the two games prior, with Collingwood winning the first and Milton winning the second. Friday’s game is important for the Menace ahead of the playoffs. If they want to make a deep run, they will likely need to get past the Blues who have led the league all season.
If you aren’t heading to Collingwood to cheer on the Menace, you can watch the game on FloHockey. The Menace will also provide updates on their social media accounts. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Eddie Bush Arena in Collingwood.
