Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Caledon Admirals – December 7, 2023
The Milton Menace are hitting the road on Thursday for a battle against the Caledon Admirals at Mayfield Recreation Complex.
The Menace are looking to build on last weekend’s performance after a huge 3-2 second overtime win against the Collingwood Blues on Sunday. After losing 10-0 in their first meeting of the season, Milton started the game by scoring two power play goals in the first 10 minutes from Aidan Puley and Alessandro Petreccia. Collingwood scored in the second and third period to tie the game and take it to overtime. Menace captain Connor Driscoll was the hero, scoring his thirteenth goal of the season in the second overtime to win it. Glen Crandall made an outstanding 62 saves for Milton as he continues to be a key factor in their success. Sunday’s win was tremendous for the Menace as they took down the first place team and tightened the gap between them in the standings.
Caledon played Wednesday night against the Cobourg Cougars and lost 5-1, extending their losing streak to four games. The Admirals sit 11th in the West Conference with a 5-19-1-4 record. Thursday will be the third of four meetings between the Admirals and Menace this season. The Menace beat them 10-1 in September, and then on October 27, they tied 1-1.
Milton must play with the same speed and tenacity that got them the win over Collingwood. Few teams can skate with the Menace and hold off their powerful offence if they play at their top speed. As seen on October 27, the Admirals held the Menace to just a single goal. It will take a complete team game to continue to find these wins and pick up important points as the season progresses.
Thursday’s game will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Caledon. The game will be available on FloHockey, and the Menace’s social media will have updates all game long.
