Menace Dominate Admirals 7-2 in Season Opener

In front of a raucous full house crowd at Milton Memorial Arena, the Milton Menace kicked off their 2024-2025 OJHL campaign with a commanding 7-2 victory over the Caledon Admirals. It was a night to remember for several newcomers, with rookie and Harvard commit Ryder Cali stealing the show in his OJHL debut. The 16-year-old made it a birthday to remember, scoring his first-ever junior goal in his first regular season game.

The Menace came out firing, with Gavin Sheehan lighting the lamp just minutes into the game, setting the tone for what would be a high-scoring affair. Gabriel Ciarallo, another fresh face for the Menace, found the back of the net twice, establishing himself as an immediate offensive threat. Not to be outdone, newly acquired defenseman Luke Hampel made his presence felt with two powerful goals from the blue line, giving the Admirals no room to breathe.

Kyle Burton, picked up during the offseason, also chipped in with his first goal for the Menace, rounding out an all-around dominant offensive performance. Assists came from a well-rounded team effort, with Tryfon, Catalano x2, Tremble, Pacheco, Smith, Hicks, Fabjan, MacAuley, and Siletsky all contributing helpers.

In goal, new netminder Ethan Kowatsch was solid between the pipes, turning away 18 of 20 shots to earn his first win of the season, finishing the night with a strong .900 save percentage.

The Menace’s decisive win sets a high bar for the season ahead, with a deep roster that showed both offensive firepower and defensive stability. As they continue their campaign, fans will surely be eager to see what more this dynamic squad has in store.

Next up, the Menace will look to carry this momentum forward in their upcoming contest Sunday versus the North York Rangers.
