Milton Menace Preview: Menace vs St Michael – November 22, 2023
It’s another home game at the Milton Memorial Arena as the Milton Menace will take on the St. Michaels Buzzers on Wednesday night. The Menace are going for a fifth straight win.
The Menace are looking to keep things going after a 5-4 win on Sunday against the Aurora Tigers. Aidan Puley, Ivan Fabjan (2), Madden MacDougall and James Jagodic found the back of the net for Milton. Their power play continues to click, with their first three goals of the game coming with the man advantage. Glen Crandall picked up his 13th win of the season, putting him at second most in the league behind Noah Pak of the Collingwood Blues. The Menace now have a 17-4-2-0 record with 36 points in 23 games. They are second in the West Conference, eight points behind Collingwood.
The Buzzers are coming to Milton after a home win against the Haliburton County Huskies on November 12. That was their first win of the month, their previous one coming on October 27. They sit seventh in the East Conference with a 13-11-0-1 record and 27 points in 25 games.
Wednesday will be the first and only meeting of the season between Milton and St. Michaels. As seen against the Tigers, the Menace have had success with their power play. They’ve operated at 36.4%, ranking them fourth in the league for power play percentage and second in power play goals scored with 28. St. Michaels has been strong on the penalty kill, putting them third in the league, killing 83.6% of their infractions. This matchup will be a great test for the Menace power play as they try to score against some of the league’s best penalty killers.
