Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Oakville Blades, February 13, 2024
The Milton Menace are back on the road to take on the Oakville Blades in a rare Tuesday afternoon game.
The Menace come into this one off a massive 6-2 victory over the Niagara Falls Canucks on Sunday. Evan Grobanopoulos scored in the first to get things started, quickly followed by a power play goal from Connor Driscoll. In the second period, Ashtyn Pacheco, Aidan Puley and Madden MacDougall scored to give the Menace a 5-0 lead. MacDougall’s goal game while Milton was short-handed. The Canucks got one on the board right before the end of the period. The teams each scored one in the third, with Sett Ursomarzo picking it up for Milton. Joseph Macchione had four assists in the win while Glen Crandall made 26 saves for the Menace.
The Blades last played on Saturday when they beat the Lindsay Muskies 4-3. They are 2-3 in their last five games, which included two tight losses to Collingwood. They are 24-18-1-2 on the season and are seventh in the West Conference.
Milton won the previous two meetings between these teams this season. Both were one-goal decisions with a ton of back and forth. On December 10th, the Menace won 3-2 at home. These teams will play once more in the regular season on February 28th, this time in Milton.
The Menace have officially clinched a playoff spot and sit second in the West Conference. They have one game in hand on the Leamington Flyers, who sit just behind them, but both teams have 70 points. A win in Tuesday’s game for Milton will create a bit of separation between the teams. With only a few weeks left in the regular season, the Menace will look to play some of their best hockey in preparation for the playoffs.
Puck drop is set for 2:30 p.m. If you aren’t making the afternoon trip to Oakville, stream the game on FloHockey and support Milton. You can also keep an eye on the Menace’s social media accounts for game updates.
