Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Lindsay Muskies, Governors’ Showcase– September 27, 2023
It’s game two for the Milton Menace at the OJHL’s 2023 Governors’ Showcase on Wednesday as they take on the Lindsay Muskies in Buffalo, NY. They’ll look to rebound after a tough loss on Tuesday.
The Menace fell 5-4 to the Leamington Flyers and will look to get back in the win column on Wednesday. Tuesday marked their first loss since September 8. The teams exchanged goals in the first period, with James Jogodic scoring for the Menace. Graeme Macauley grabbed one in the second, but the Flyers put two on the board. Aidan Puley and Jayden Levesque scored in the third, but the push was too late to tie things up.
Wednesday’s game will be Lindsay’s first game at the showcase. Their previous game was an 8-5 loss in Markham at the hands of the Royals. The Muskies come into the game with a 2-4 record on the season.
The Menace were unable to capitalize on their power play chances against Leamington, so special teams will be an area to work on against Lindsay. It will be vital for Milton to take any opportunities given to them by Lindsay. They also need to control the speed of the game to create open spaces and offensive pressure to get pucks on the net.
This game and the remainder of the showcase will be available for streaming on FloHockey. Wednesday’s puck drop is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. from LECOM Harborcenter. Stay tuned for live updates on the Menace’s social media as they look to leave Buffalo on a high note.
