Milton Menace Preview: Menace vs. Leamington Flyers– September 22, 2023
It’s another Friday night at the Milton Memorial Arena when the Milton Menace welcome the Leamington Flyers to town for the only time this season.
It’s been a hot start for the Menace as they’ve gone 4-1, winning each game since dropping the season opener to the Brantford 99ers. Wednesday’s game was a 7-2 home win against the North York Rangers in which goaltender Ariel Zaslaver made 20 saves to pick up his first OJHL win. Alessandro Petreccia (2), Graeme Macauley, Jayden Levesque, Connor Driscoll, James Jagodic and Alexander Siletsky all scored for Milton. Macauley’s goal was his first in a Menace uniform.
The Flyers are coming off a 3-2 win on Thursday against the Burlington Cougars at home. Kyle Kussmann ended it for the Flyers in the second overtime. This brings their record to 3-1-1-0 on the season. They’ll be looking to build on their win when they arrive in Milton on Friday.
After five games, Driscoll leads the team with two goals and six assists for eight points. Sett Ursomarzo, Aidan Puley and Justin O’Donnell follow close behind with seven points each. The Menace’s offence has been a massive threat and has been spread across the lineup in each game. The team has had 19 players record at least one point over the first five games. Each night, Milton has the potential to put their opponents down and keep the pressure on to avoid letting them back in the game. If they can continue this trend against Leamington, it’ll be a major factor in getting the win.
Friday’s puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. in Milton. We want to see you in the stands so pick up your tickets and join the Menace for an exciting night of hockey. The game will also be available on FloHockey.
