Milton Menace Preview: Menace vs Collingwood Blues, February 16, 2024
The Milton Menace are back home at Milton Memorial Arena on Friday to take on the league-leading Collingwood Blues.
Milton’s last game was on Tuesday afternoon against the Oakville Blades. The Menace came out on top with a 5-0 win. Aidan Puley opened the scoring in the first period with a power-play goal. He is now on a six-game point streak with seven points over that stretch. Justin O’Donnell scored in the second period to give the Menace a 2-0 lead. In the third, Ivan Fabjan, Ashtyn Pacheco, and Connor Driscoll grabbed one to secure Milton’s 5-0 win. Driscoll also added three assists, bringing him to seven points in his last three games. Goaltender Forbes Anderson made a perfect 27 saves in the win. The Menace will be looking for a third straight win on Friday.
The Blues have been dominant all season and are currently on a 14 game win streak that dates back to December 22nd. Their last win was a 10-2 win over the Pickering Panthers on Saturday. They are first in the league with a 43-5-0-1 record on the season.
Friday will be the third of four games between Milton and Collingwood in the regular season. They have split the previous two games, with the Blues winning the first game 10-0 and the Menace taking the second, 3-2 in overtime. Milton will visit Collingwood once more in March.
Undoubtedly, the Blues come into town with a massive task for the Menace. If Milton wants to grab a win on Friday and end Collingwood’s streak, they’ll need to play their best level of hockey. This is an important test for the upcoming playoffs. The Blues will give little time and space, forcing the Menace to make quick but smart decisions, similar to what playoff hockey looks like.
The game will begin at 7:30 p.m., so grab your tickets and head to Milton Memorial Arena for some Friday night action. If you can’t be there, check out the stream on FloHockey or follow the Menace’s social media accounts for live updates
