Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Buffalo Jr. Sabres – November 8, 2023

The Milton Menace are heading over the Niagara River to visit the Buffalo Jr. Sabres on Wednesday night. This game will kick off a three-game week for the Menace.

Milton will look to build on Friday’s win in which they beat the Brantford 99ers 6-0 on Friday at home. Friday’s game was a great effort by the team to start the month of November. Milton’s goals included Joseph Macchione’s first as a Menace, along with two from Justin O’Donnell and one from Madden MacDougall, Aidan Puley and Sett Ursomarzo. Puley and Ursomarzo both scored on the power play. O’Donnell had a stand-out performance, putting up a team-leading four points on the evening. Menace goaltender Glen Crandall recorded a shutout and the win improved Milton’s record to 14-4-2-0.

Buffalo’s last game played was against St Michael’s on Thursday as their game scheduled for Friday in Oakville was postponed. The Jr. Sabres won 2-0 and have recorded shutouts in their last two games. They sit third in the West Conference with 27 points and a 13-7-0-1 record. The Menace sit three points ahead of the Jr. Sabres in the standings. Milton has a game in hand, but the points from Wednesday’s game will certainly be impactful.

Milton and Buffalo last met on Menace home ice on October 6. The game resulted in a 4-2 Menace win. The Menace have played two games at the Lecom Haborcenter in Buffalo this season as part of the 2023 OJHL Governor’s Showcase, but neither game was against the Jr. Sabres. Milton went 1-1 at the Showcase. Buffalo has shown their ability to dominate offensively, so it will be key for the Menace to focus on defence first on Wednesday.

Wednesday’s game at the Lecom Harborcenter is set to begin at 7:45 p.m. The game can be streamed on FloHockey. Stay tuned to the Menace’s social media accounts, as they will provide game updates.
