Milton Menace Preview: Menace vs Brantford 99ers – November 3, 2023
The Milton Menace will welcome the Brantford 99ers to the Milton Memorial Arena on Friday for their only game of the weekend. The Menace will look to start November off on the right foot after a difficult end to October.
Last Sunday, Milton’s trip to Collingwood was soured by a dominant performance from the Blues. The Menace fell 10-0 to the Blues, marking their first time being shutout this season. Milton got 29 shots on Collingwood, but Blues goaltender Noah Pak shut the door on Milton’s offence. The Menace will work to regroup before hitting the ice on Friday. They currently sit second in the West Conference, one point ahead of Buffalo with two games in hand.
The 99ers will also be looking to bounce back after two straight losses, including a 7-2 home-ice loss to Pickering on Thursday night. They have won just one of their last five games and sit ninth in the West Conference with a 7-11-0-0 record.
Friday’s game will be the third meeting between Milton and Brantford this season. The season series is currently tied at one per side, with the visiting team being victorious in both games. Milton won their most recent meeting on October 12, 4-1.
Milton allowed two power play goals plus a short-handed one against Collingwood last weekend but could not capitalize on their own opportunities. It will be essential to tighten up defensively and get back to the level of play that has made them successful all year. Milton will look to find their stride, set the pace early and get on the board to gain confidence.
The Menace will not be home again in over a week, so make sure you get out to the Milton Memorial Arena to support the Menace on Friday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and you can stream the game live on FloHockey.
