Milton Menace Preview: Menace vs Caledon Admirals– October 27, 2023
It’s another Friday night game at the Milton Memorial Arena when the Milton Menace welcome the Caledon Admirals to town. The Menace are looking to make it four wins in a row.
The Menace beat the Haliburton County Huskies 5-2 on Tuesday. Connor Driscoll continued his scoring ways and opened things up on the power play. Ivan Fabjan also scored, but the Huskies came back to tie things up at two per side. Gavin Sheehan took the lead back for Milton just over a minute later. Driscoll and Nicholas Wereha scored in the third period to ensure the win, and Menace goaltender Glen Crandall made 40 saves.
Crandall sits at a .927 save percentage, ranking him fifth-best in the league and the third-best of goalies who have played at least 10 games this season. He has a 9-3-0-1 record and has been a bright spot for Milton this season.
Caledon comes to Milton off a 9-4 loss in Brantford on Thursday. Friday’s game will be their fourth of five road games in a row. This is the second meeting between Caledon and Milton this season. The Menace won the game on September 14 in Caledon, 10-1. They currently sit 11th in the West Conference with a 2-10-0-4 record in 16 games played.
The Admirals have had trouble finding goals so far this season. They have scored the least goals of any team in the OJHL, sitting at 32. This paired with the Menace’s strong team defence and goaltending may make it difficult for the Admirals to come back if the Menace take a multi-goal lead at any point in the game.
It’s always a good time at the Milton Memorial Arena, and Friday’s game will be no different. Grab your tickets and hit the stands to cheer on the Menace. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
