The Menace continued their offensive start to the season with a 7-1 road victory over the North York Rangers at Herb Carnegie Arena. Milton came out flying, putting up four goals in the opening period with contributions from up and down the lineup.
Dean Deligeorgis kicked off the scoring with his first OJHL goal just under five minutes into the first period, burying a feed from Markus Hicks and Lucas Tye to put the Menace up 1-0. Milton’s offense exploded soon after, with Graeme MacAuley adding a power-play marker and Ivan Fabjan following up with his first goal of the season in rapid succession. Nathan Catalano extended the lead to 4-1 before Peter Smith of North York closed out the opening period with his second goal of the young season, assisted by Ervie Terwilliger and Cain Tucker.
The Menace didn’t let up in the second, as Ashtyn Pacheco netted his first of the season just over six minutes in followed by Lucas Tye’s first OJHL goal capitalizing on a beautiful setup from Deligeorgis and MacAuley to push the lead to 6-1.
The final tally came late in the third period with Luke Hampel converting on a power play, with helpers by Marcus Tryfon for his second of the game with secondary help from Alexandr Siletskiy.
With five different players finding the back of the net and stellar special teams play, Milton controlled every aspect of the game, outshooting North York 53-25 and dominating both ends of the ice. By the second intermission, they had stretched their lead to 6-1, stifling any hopes of a Rangers comeback with relentless offensive pressure and a rock-solid defensive effort.
