Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Burlington Cougars, Round 1 Game 4- March 15, 2024
Three straight playoff wins for the Milton Menace have put them in the position to end their first-round series on Friday when they visit the Burlington Cougars for game four.
Wednesday’s game three was the tightest of the series thus far as the Menace won 6-5. The Cougars got out to a quick start, scoring two goals in the first half of the period. Their second goal came while they were shorthanded. The Menace were able to strike back, and they had evened the game at two before the end of the period. Madden MacDougall and Nick Wereha scored for Milton. The Menace added two more goals in the second period before Burlington got another. Sett Ursomarzo and Connor Driscoll each picked up their first of the playoffs. After Burlington’s goal, Milton was able to put up two more as Ursomarzo grabbed his second of the game in addition to a goal from Markus Hicks. Burlington scored two goals in the third period, but they weren’t enough to even the score. Forbes Anderson made 34 saves in the win.
With a 3-0 series lead, the Menace will look to close out the first round on Friday. Although wins have not come easy at Central Arena for Milton, they played a strong game two there less than a week ago and will look to build on that success. They will need to continue to elevate their level of play to put this series out of reach for the Cougars.
In game two, the Menace allowed just 22 shots from the Cougars compared to the 39 shots they saw in game three. While Milton has outshot Burlington in each of the three games this series, the Menace need to limit the Cougars’ chances in game four and any game after should the Cougars extend the series.
Friday’s puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. at Central Arena in Burlington. If you aren’t making the road trip with the Menace, be sure to catch the game on FloHockey. The Menace will also provide updates on their social media accounts.
