March 6, 2025, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Luke Johnston of the Milton Menace has been named the West Conference Player-of-the-Month for February after he tallied a league-leading 20 points (7 goals/13 assists) during eight Menace games.
Johnston, who was acquired in a trade from the Toronto Jr. Canadiens on Nov. 15, had 72 points (33 goals/39 assists) in 49 games between the two teams this season.
The Milton native played his first two years (2022-24) in the OJHL with the Oakville Blades.
Johnston played minor hockey with the Guelph Jr. Gryphons and Burlington Eagles organizations.
The 20-year-old is committed to U SPORTS’ Dalhousie University in Halifax for next season.
Johnston and the Menace are playing the Burlington Cougars in the first round of the OJHL playoffs. Game 1 goes Friday at Milton Memorial Arena.
Brayden Degelas of the Leamington Flyers was runner-up to Johnston as the West Conference Player-of-the-Month. The Blenheim, ON native totalled 15 points (9 goals/6 assists) in eight games. The second-year forward has 50 points (31 goals/19 assists) in 54 games this season.
Leamington opens the postseason at home Friday against the Niagara Falls Canucks.
