The Milton Menace had quite the weekend!
On Friday, December 6th, the Menace welcomed in the Mississauga Chargers for a rematch from their game last weekend. Over the last two years, Milton is undefeated against the Chargers. Could they continue that win streak?
The first period was all Milton, with Ivan Fabjan scoring his 6th of the year 12 minutes into the opening frame, assisted by Kaden Smith and Alessandro Petreccia. Right before the end of the period, the Menace packed on the fire power. Gavin Sheehan buried his 5th of the year, assisted by Tristan Tremble and Alessandro Petreccia. 20 seconds later, Ashtyn Pacheco got his 10th, with help from Tremble and Sheehan. With 15 seconds, Luke Johnston got on the board. His 13th of the season got helped from Captain Graeme MacAuley and the new guy, Justin Dezoete. After all of that, the Menace led 4-0 heading into the second period.
Mississauga would get two back to start the next period. Milton followed that up with a pair of their own goals. Nathan Catalano was first, with his 6th goal being assisted by Sheehan and Markus Hicks. Seven minutes later, Marco Costante nabbed his 5th. Tremble and Petreccia got the apples. While the Chargers found the back of the net again, Fabjan and Costante would put the pressure on again, with both scoring more goals. It was 8-3 Menace after 40 minutes of action.
Kaden Smith and Madden MacDougall would also get on the board in the third, trading a pair of goals with Mississauga. The Menace would beat the Chargers 10-5 in an action packed night.
Austin McKillop was in net for the Menace. It wasn’t his best night from a percentage standpoint, but he did enough to get the win, stopping 30 of 35 shots.
On Sunday, December 8th, the Menace took their talents south of the border to Buffalo to take on the Jr. Sabres.
Just like Friday, the Menace opened the scoring in the first period. Luke Johnston scored his 14th of the season, assisted by Justin Dezoete and Marcus Tryfon. Alessandro Petreccia followed that up with his 2nd of the season, assisted by Madden MacDougall and Justin Dezoete. The Menace led the Sabres 2-0 after 20 minutes of play.
The second period was all Buffalo, as they managed to score three goals in the final six minutes of the frame. The Sabres took a 3-2 lead heading into the final frame.
Milton had to get a goal to keep in the game, and they got that in the form of Madden MacDougall, scoring his 10th of the season, assisted by Justin Dezoete and Alessandro Petreccia. 22 seconds later, Ashtyn Pacheco buried the game winner. His 11th of the year was assisted by Ivan Fabjan and Dean Deligeorgis. Milton beat Buffalo 4-3.
Austin McKillop was in net once again, stopping 24 of 27 shots. That’s good for an .888% save percentage.
The Menace don’t get a lot of rest, as they head to Oakville on Tuesday, December 10th to play the Blades. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex.
Their next home game is on Friday, December 13th against the Georgetown Raiders. Game time is listed for 7:30 p.m. at the Milton Memorial Arena. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
