The Ontario Junior Hockey League’s top performers will be headed to town this coming season. All at once.
The league has announced that the Milton Menace will play host to the OJHL All-Star Game on Jan. 18, while the Governors’ Showcase is set for Sept. 15 to 17 in Niagara Falls.
New this coming season with be a Prospects Series for the top young players. They’ll be divided into four teams that will play three games each, with the top two finishers to battle in championship play. Dates and locations have yet to be finalized.
The Menace are coming off their best season in franchise history, having captured the West Conference title before being vanquished by Trenton in six games in the league championship.
Their successful run was due in part to a deep lineup and key in-season acquisitions, most notably hometown sniper Luke Johnston and goalie Carter Bickle.
Milton has a strong feeder program to draw on, with the Jr. U18 Menace having reached the OHF semifinals last spring before being edged in double overtime.
