Local juniors close out 2025 play at home against Georgetown Sunday

It was a night with a potential window into first-round playoff action – and the sight was quite encouraging.

Up the road Friday to take on the Burlington Cougars – who if the post-season began today would be their opposition for a third straight year – the Menace quickly erased an early deficit and prevailed 4-2.

It was their second consecutive win over their neighbouring rivals and lifted them to 25-7-2-1 on the season.

Coming off a hat-trick last Sunday, Easton Lynds led with a goal and two assists, while Graeme MacAuley tied things up late in the first period and added an assist.

Ashytyn Pacheco’s powerplay marker in the second stood up as the winner, while Alec Stewart added an insurance tally early in the third.

Making 25 saves for the victory was Carter Froggett.

Milton will take to extend their win streak to three games when they close out the calendar year against the last-place Georgetown Raiders Sunday at Memorial Arena. Game time is 6 p.m.
