The season is officially over for the Milton Menace.

It was always going to be a tough fight heading into this second round series as they squared off against the top team in the entire league: the Toronto Patriots.

Through three games, the Menace found themselves down 3-0 with a chance to reverse sweep the Pats starting with a win on Friday, March 27th at the Milton Memorial Arena. That win never came.

Game #4 started off with the Patriots taking a 2-0 lead in the first period, and doubling that lead to 4-0 in the second period.

Milton would get two goals back early in the third period to help keep the hope alive. Toronto would then snuff out any flicker of a chance, and pile on the offence to claim a 6-2 win, and 4-0 series sweep.

Austin McKillop was in net for the final game, stopping 38 of 44 shots. That gave him an .863% save percentage in the losing effort.

The Menace now head into their offseason with a number of senior players aging out of the OJHL. That includes Captain Graeme MacAuley, who we expect to hear from in the coming days.

They will begin their offseason process, including their annual Prospect Camp. It’s scheduled to take place in May at the Milton Memorial Arena. Read more here.

We’ll keep you updated on all things Milton Menace as they start to retool the roster for another season of contending for their first OJHL Championship.
