The Milton Menace were able to bounce back with a weekend full of big wins.

Heading into their home match-up against the Leamington Flyers on Friday, January 30th, the Menace had lost three in a row. It was a rare down period for a team that had been rolling since late October.

Dante D’Andrea opened the scoring for the Menace in the first period, with his 8th of the year being assisted by Jason Zhou and Dean Deligeorgis. Leamington would eventually tie things late in the period. It was 1-1 after 20 minutes of action.

In the second period, Milton would get a second goal from D’Andrea, this time on the powerplay. His 9th was assisted by Nathan Catalano and Tristan Tremble. While the Flyers would once again, the Menace would take back the lead. This time it was Alec Stewart. His 14th of the year was assisted by Josh Currie and Dallys Hibbert. Milton was up 3-2 heading into the final intermission.

The man advantage would prove effective for Milton in the third period, as Tristan Tremble potted his 15th goal of the year, assisted by Ashtyn Pacheco and Jacob Strizzi. It would then be an empty netter for D’Andrea that ensured his hat trick for the night. Tremble and Strizzi got the helpers on his 10th of the year. Milton beat Leamington 5-2.

Austin McKillop was in net for the win. He stopped 29 of 31 shots, good for .935% save percentage and the win.

Just two days later, the Menace hit the road to take on the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.

It was their star forward Tristan Tremble who eventually opened the scoring for the Menace, with his 16th of the year, assisted by Jacob Strizzi and Captain Graeme MacAuley, coming late in the first period. Milton led 1-0 after one period of play.

In the second period, the Sabres pulled ahead with back-to-back goals. That made it 2-1 Buffalo after 40 minutes.

The Menace then went on the attack in the final period, outshooting the Sabres 20-10. That led to a late goal from Ashtyn Pacheco with just over a minute left in the game. His 24th was assisted by Dean Deligeorgis and Gabe Runco. That sent the game to overtime tied 2-2.

It was the Captain who eventually ended things. Graeme MacAuley buried his 6th of the year, assisted by Tremble and Pacheco, and the Menace walked out of the arena with a 3-2 overtime win over Buffalo.

Austin McKillop was in net for Milton once again, as he stopped 34 of the 36 shots he faced, giving him the .944% save percentage and the win.

The Menace now have the work week off, as they get ready for a return home against the Oakville Blades on Friday, February 6th. Game time at the Milton Memorial Arena will be at 7:30 p.m. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
