Milton Menace Preview: Menace vs Haliburton County Huskies – February 26, 2023

The Milton Menace will finish their weekend at home against the Haliburton County Huskies on Sunday evening.

Sunday at the Milton Memorial Arena will be special as the team will celebrate their six graduating players. Forwards Aidan Hughes and Myles Perry and defencemen Owen Forester, Carson Burlington, Cory Liu, and Thomas Gordon make up the graduating class.

The Menace will be looking for a win after Saturday night’s tie in Aurora. Connor Driscoll and Jared Coccimiglio scored for Milton, with Coccimiglio’s coming on the power play. The Menace have picked up a point in each of their last three games, putting them two points ahead of Pickering to hold on to fourth place. The tie brings their record to 30-17-2-2

The Huskies sit in third place in the South/East Conference with 74 points in 52 games and a record of 35-13-1-3. They are coming off a 7-1 loss to the Toronto Junior Canadiens on Saturday. They have lost two of their last three games.

With Milton and Haliburton County in different conferences, this will be the first and only meeting between the teams this season. The Huskies and Menace were trade partners numerous times this season, including the trade that brought Perry to Milton in October.

The Huskies have been a strong team all season, sitting near the top of the league in both goals for and goals against. They also have the third-best power play in the league, so it’ll be up to the Menace penalty kill units to hold them off. Team defence will be important in the Menace’s quest for the win.

Sunday’s puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 pm at Milton Memorial Arena. Come out to support the Menace and the graduating players. The Menace will have just one more regular season home game following Sunday. The game will also be streamed live on Hockey TV.
