The Menace’s top scorer was in top form Sunday.

In Milton’s final home game of the regular season, Luke Johnston – one of the club’s best hometown players in recent memory – delivered a hat-trick and assisted on three other goals to power a 9-3 shellacking of the struggling Georgetown Raiders.

This marked the third time in two weeks the Menace scored eight or more goals, while Johnston now sits tied for fifth in the OJHL in goals (33) and seventh in overall points (72).

It was the hosts’ fifth straight win and ninth victory in their last 11 outings, lifting them to 36-13-0-3.

A fierce finish saw the Menace strike five times in the third period, after the Raiders drew within one before the end of the second.

Austin McKillop made 27 saves on a night where his team took just one penalty.

Nathan Catalano tallied twice and Justin Dezoete had a goal and three assists. Marco Costante and Dean Deligeorgis each had a goal and an assist, with captain Graeme MacAuley rounding out the scoring.

With their first-round opponent still to be determined, the Menace close out the regular season with a four-game road trip, starting with tonight’s visit to the conference-leading Leamington Flyers.
