Introducing the Milton Jr. Menace

Milton, Ontario – May, 28 2024 – The Milton Minor Hockey Association and the Milton Menace Junior A Hockey Club are thrilled to announce an innovative partnership together which will see the local Minor Hockey organization’s U18 Winterhawks program undergo a significant transformation. Beginning with the upcoming 2024/2025 season, the Milton Winterhawks will adopt the name of the local Junior hockey team, the Milton Menace, for a portion of their U18 teams as part of a pilot program aimed at fostering community unity and player satisfaction.

“We are incredibly excited about this partnership and what it means for our community,” said Owner and President of the Milton Menace, Jason Tryfon. “This collaboration represents a unique opportunity to bring together two pillars of Milton’s hockey community, uniting players under one banner and strengthening the bond between our organizations within the community. We know many players love our brand, play in our rink and want to be Menace’s themselves. Now, with this partnership, they can be!”

The pilot program will involve three teams in total to start, at the U18 age group including one AA team and 2 A teams. All participating players will don iconic Milton Jr. Menace uniforms, designed exclusively for the Jr. Menace program users, symbolizing their shared commitment to excellence and sportsmanship.

President of the Milton Winterhawks, Aaron Fernandes, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “This partnership marks a new chapter for the Milton Minor Hockey Association as these pilot teams become the Milton Jr. Menace and reflects our dedication to providing the best possible experience for our players. By aligning with our local Junior A hockey team the Milton Menace, we are able to offer an exciting opportunity for our players, and strengthening our partnership within the community together both on and off the ice”

In addition to adopting the Milton Junior Menace name, the organization with assistance from the Menace will provide a comprehensive gear package for pilot program participants, including helmets, gloves, and pant shells, further solidifying their integration into the Milton Menace family on behalf of this approval provided by the Milton Minor Hockey Association Board of Directors.

The announcement has been met with overwhelming excitement from players, parents, and the Winterhawks’ board of directors alike, who see the partnership as a testament to the strength and unity of Milton’s hockey community. Winterhawks President Aaron Fernandes goes on describe the nature of the relationship with the following: “The main reason for this initiative is to work with the Menace to build a stronger foundation between the two parties, where the Menace will assist the Winterhawks with resources, mentorship through our Menace Mentors program and player development to strengthen our organization. If this pilot program is successful, we will continue to do this for every graduating U18 class for years to come”

As the 2024/2025 season approaches, anticipation continues to build for the inaugural season of the Milton Jr. Menace, as players from both organizations prepare to take to the ice under a unified banner, embodying the spirit of teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship that defines Milton hockey.
