The Milton Menace started off the Governors’ Showcase in positive fashion securing a 5-2 victory over the Aurora Tigers in front of NHL and NCAA scouts. Gabriel Ciarallo set the tone early, scoring his sixth goal of the season just over five minutes into the first period, giving the Menace an early lead. Although Aurora’s Andreas Mikrogiannakis answered later in the period to tie the game, Milton found their groove in the second, where they netted three quick goals and pulled away. Lucas Tye and Ashtyn Pacheco scored back-to-back just seconds apart, showcasing Milton’s offensive depth, while Justin Pavese tallied for Aurora to keep it close at 4-2.
The third period saw the Menace lock things down defensively, with Andrew Giljanovic adding an insurance goal (his first in the OJHL) midway through the final frame to secure the win. Goaltender Ethan Kowatsch was solid between the pipes, stopping 18 of 20 shots, while Milton’s defense kept the Tigers to just three shots in the final period. The Menace, now 5-1 on the season, displayed their well-rounded game, with contributions from all lines and a disciplined performance.
Next up, the menace face the Trenton Golden Hawks in what will be a high-flying affair!
