Four Ontario Junior Hockey League players are on NHL Central Scoutingā€™s mid-term rankings for the 2022 NHL Draft that was released today :

  • DefencemenĀ Jack SparkesĀ (71), of the St. Michaelā€™s Buzzers in Toronto, andĀ GeorgeĀ Fegaras (91), of the North York Rangers, are rated in the third round

  • CentreĀ Lucas BuzziolĀ (167) of the Milton Menace is ranked in the sixth round

  • Harrison BallardĀ (199), a centre with the Wellington Dukes, is rated in the seventh round

Sparkes is committed to Michigan State, Fegaras to Cornell and Ballard to UMass.

Fourteen players currently on Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) rosters cracked the list. The OJHL had the most players on the list of all leagues in the CJHL

The rankings feature the top 224 skaters and 32 goaltenders in North America as well as the top 135 skaters and 10 goaltenders internationally.

In its 47th year of operation, NHL Central Scouting provides evaluation and scouting of draft-eligible players to NHL member clubs. Headed by Director of Central ScoutingĀ Dan Marr, NHL Central Scouting employs eight full-time scouts throughout North America.

The 22-team OJHL is the largest sanctioned Jr. A league in Canada.
