Local juniors will look to rebound Tuesday against Wellington

Homecoming heartbreak struck the Menace Sunday afternoon.

In their first game at Memorial Arena in just over two weeks, Milton surrendered two goals in the last 34 seconds of play to fall 3-2 to the Toronto Patriots.

The loss dropped them to 31-13-0-3.

Ryder Cali put the Menace ahead with a powerplay goal midway through the third period – his 19th of the season – while Madden MacDougall’s 20th of the year gave the hosts their initial lead 1:54 into the contest.

Assisting on both goals – extending his point streak to 16 games – was Luke Johnston.

Carter Bickle made 30 saves in the narrow defeat.

The third-place Menace, who locked up a playoff spot last week, have a quick turnaround, welcoming the East Conference’s Wellington Dukes for a 2 p.m. clash tomorrow (Feb. 11) at Memorial.

They close out a three-game homestand Friday against the Caledon Admirals. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
